Megan and Zach had a pretty rainy day, but that didn't stop them from having an amazing wedding day! If you haven't read my blog about their summer engagement session, make sure you check that out here!
Megan and Zach had their wedding at Zach's family farm in Hatley, WI. I shot this wedding with Trinity from Hoffland Films (make sure to scroll to the end to see their amazing film!). We arrived around the same time as the girls did from the salon. Megan could be seen running around, making sure things were good to go in the tent, We got started with their details and Megan's Dress. Zach's Parent's house was the perfect setting for the getting ready excitement.
Megan got into her dress. It was a light, boho dress that was perfect for this rainy summer day!
We said hi to the guys who were getting ready in the basement. Megan and Zach had decided against doing a first look. To knock out some of the photos, we decided to photograph the wedding party separately prior to the ceremony. We started out with the guys before working with the girls. It was raining a bit but the wedding party was still game to shoot outside!
Due to the rain, they ended up moving the ceremony inside the barn. Though a little small, the barn was the perfect setting for the two to tie the knot. The décor was simple, just wooden chairs and a chandelier of test tubes holding dried floral. Megan's uncle gave the message. It was short, sweet, and personal. They sealed their marriage with a kiss and celebrated down the aisle and into the rain!
We took some family photos in the barn while the rain calmed down. Once the rain was down to a sprinkle, we pulled the wedding party outside for full wedding party photos.
After that, we got a little time with just Megan and Zach. Once huge thing about these two is they never let the rain dampen their mood or even add an ounce of stress. They were both so relaxed and go with the flow all day, it made the day even more amazing! It was so fun working with them and getting to see just how excited they were to finally be married!
Next we retired to the tent for cocktail hour. Guests were enjoying drinks and each other's company, while drying off from the short trek from the barn. After the grand march, we sat down to some amazing dinner.
The evening then began with some heartfelt speeches from the best man and maid of honor (I definitely shed a few tears.) We then sang happy birthday to Megan's Niece, which was such a special touch.
The couple then opened the night with their first dance. They had a close friend who sang live music for the evening (He was SO talented!)
While the guests danced the night away, we grabbed Megan & Zach for what would've been golden hour shots, but ended up being more of a "blue hour" due to the rain. They were moody, and some of my favorite shots from the day.
Megan and Zach were a joy to work with from their first inquiry, to the moment we left for the day. Their day was so easy and relaxed, despite the rain changing the plans a bit. Their love and excitement for the day never faded, and I'm so happy I got to be a part of their amazing wedding day! Congrats again to Mr & Mrs Vosters!
